Privacy Policy
Overview
AI Limit is an independent community monitor for publicly announced Codex usage limit resets. We designed it so that your privacy is the default, not an option: the app works without accounts and keeps data on your device.
Data we don't collect
AI Limit does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Your Codex, OpenAI, or Apple account credentials
- Device identifiers used for advertising or cross-app tracking
- Usage analytics, crash reports sent to third parties, or advertising IDs
- Location data — the app never accesses your location
Local data
Reset announcements you browse are cached locally on your device using SwiftData and a shared App Group store. This cache exists only so the app and its widgets can work offline and load instantly. You can clear it at any time by deleting the app, which removes all cached data permanently.
Third-party data source
Reset announcements are fetched from the public, community-run project codex-resets.com. Requests to this source are made directly from your device to retrieve publicly available reset information. AI Limit is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI, and it never sends your Codex account information anywhere.
Notifications
AI Limit uses local notifications only. Alert scheduling happens on your device; there are no push tokens, no notification servers, and nothing that could identify you. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
Widgets
Home Screen, Lock Screen, and StandBy widgets read the same local cache via the device's shared App Group storage. Widgets never make independent network requests that could leak identifiers.
